Minimalna zarada koja je uvedena u Nemačkoj u iznosu od 8,5 evra po satu mogla bi, prema procenama stručnjaka da dovede do otpuštanja oko pola miliona radnika.
Većina nemačkih poslodavaca od 1. januara je u obavezi da svojim radnicima isplaćuje najmanje 8,5 evra po satu, što će, kako sami poslodavci kažu, ugroziti veliki napredak na tržištu rada koji je ta zemlja postigla u poslednjoj deceniji.
Nedavno objavljena studija Inicijative za novu socijalno tržišnu ekonomiju, koju financiraju nemački poslodavci u metalnoj industriji i elektroprivredi, pokazuje da će zbog novog zakona bez posla ostati između 250.000 i 570.000 ljudi, prenosi Jutarnji list.
Pored masovnih otpuštanja, zakon o minimalcu će doneti i povećanje cena, jer je, prema anketi koju je sproveo Centar za istraživanje i analizu poslovnog ciklusa u Minhenu, više od četvrtine od 6.300 anketiranih firmi istaklo da su pogođeni uvodjenjem minimalne plate, a 57 odsto njih je reklo da će morati da uvedu mere za smanjenje troškova. 
Nemačka je do sada bila jedna od sedam država EU koje nemaju zagarantovani minimalni dohodak, a ekonomisti po pravilu ističu da minimalac nije dobar za rast ekonomije i zapošljavanje, jer poslodavcima povećava troškove i otežava prilagođavanje uslovima na tržištu. 
Prema očekivanju, različiti sektori će reagovati na različite načine, ali će najviše problema imati restorani i hotelska industrija, jer se oni u velikoj meri oslanjaju na niskokvalifikovanu radnu snagu koja trenutno zaradjuje manje od 8,5 evra na sat. 
U sektoru proizvodnje očekuje se da četvrtina poslodavaca primeni otpuštanje, u trgovini će toj meri pribeći trećina, dok će uslužni sektor pribeći povećanju cena, a otpuštanje će primeniti svega 16 odsto poslodavaca. 
Po teritoriji, kako ocenjuju i studija i anketa, veće probleme sa uvođenjem minimalca imaće istočna Nemačka gde su plate nakon ujedinjenja ostale niže nego u zapadnom delu zemlje. 
Od 21 zemlje EU koje su i do sada imale propisanu minimalnu zaradu, Francuska je sa 9,53 evra po satu medju onima sa najvećim minimalcem. Oni su negativne posledice toga ublažili ukidanjem nekih dodataka na plate i tako kompezovali troškove bez otpuštanja.
